ANDERSON, SC (August 18, 2020) – For the fourth year in a row, the corn maze at Denver Downs Farms in Anderson, SC has been nominated for USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice travel award contest. The fourth-generation, family-owned and operated farm was selected by an expert panel as a Top 20 Corn Maze and contender for the 10 Best Corn Mazes, beating out 500 other mazes in the country. Denver Downs has placed on the Top 10 list in 2016, 2018, and 2019 and are only one of two corn mazes in the Southeast to be featured.

“We are honored and excited to be selected again as one of the top corn mazes in the country and hope readers push us to the top of the list for 2020,” said Catherine Garrison Davis, Co-Owner of Denver Downs. “This year is perhaps even more special than previous contests because we are celebrating the farm’s 150th anniversary. While farming and life has changed tremendously over the course of that time, we are looking forward to showing appreciation to all those who have made our farm a part of their own family.”

Voting takes place until August 24th at this link: https://www.10best.com/awards/travel/best-corn-maze-2020/. Individuals can vote each day until the end of voting.

The 12-acre maze has a design theme every year and this season the theme is “Celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Denver Downs Farm.”  Visitors will have fun finding their way through this labyrinth, while learning facts about farm history posted throughout the maze.

“There are a lot of really great corn mazes in the U.S., so it is really exciting to be nominated – it would be even more thrilling to place again on the list,” said Ron Smith, Catherine’s brother-in-law and Corn Maze Operations Manager. “We work year-round preparing our Maze and Fall Festival so our guests will enjoy and make special memories while they are here. Especially after not having our Spring and Summer events as we had planned – we will be ready to provide a fun and safe time for our guests!”

Readers’ Digest Magazine and Southern Living Magazine both have Denver Downs’ Pumpkin Patch ranked as the best in SC. In addition to 12-acre corn maze to navigate, there are 35 fun barnyard activities and Denver Downs will have tons of pumpkins this season. Guests will enjoy the Double D Gem Mine and the ropes course – both installed last year.

“We are so looking forward to families coming out to our farm this fall after such a time of distancing,” added Catherine. “We will be ready with extra sanitation practices, screening of our visitors, and have plenty of room for social distancing in our 140-acre

field. We want everyone to be safe and have fun at the farm while continuing their family traditions of visiting Denver Downs and enjoying all the fun activities here.”

Denver Downs Fall Festival will be open September 26 until November 15th, Wednesdays through Sundays. The farm will feature live music at sunset Friday and Saturday nights. Tickets and season passes are available on the farm website. For more information go to www.denverdownsfarm.com
