Description (Optional)
Learn how to play Go! (Anderson Go Club)
Join us on Mondays at Empire Games on North McDuffie Street in Anderson. We’re there every week from 6 to 9 pm. There are no dues; we have all the equipment. All you need is to bring yourself 🙂
What is Go?
“Go” (also known as “Baduk” and “Weiqi”) is an ancient strategic board game originating in China. Players take turns placing black and white stones on a grid to control territory. The goal is to surround and capture your opponent’s stones while expanding your own influence. It’s a game of deep strategy, creativity, and patience.
Why play it?
It’s fun! But there are many benefits to playing Go. It promotes planning, critical thinking, trains your memory, improves concentration. It’s also about creativity as you have to think ahead and think of creative moves.
Who can come/play?
Everyone is welcome! While our current members are adults, I’d love to introduce kids who join to the game as well. The game rules are easy to learn: https://www.learn-go.net/
I can’t come on Mondays. Any other meetups?
The Greenville Go Club meets on Saturdays from 2 to 5 pm at the Hughes Main Library.
